Purpose

The Veli Sesi Komitesi (PVC) exists to foster positive, open communication between parents and the school’s leadership. It provides a platform for parents to express collective feedback, share ideas, and support the school’s mission through respectful and solution-oriented dialogue.

Objectives

  • To represent the general views and concerns of the parent community.
  • To provide constructive feedback on school-wide matters such as curriculum, events, facilities, communication, and school culture.
  • To contribute to the continuous improvement of the student and parent experience.
  • To promote community cohesion, inclusivity, and a strong partnership between families and the school.

Scope of Discussions

The PVC will focus on topics such as:

  • School-wide policies, routines, and procedures.
  • Communication methods and tools used by the school.
  • Suggestions for whole-school events or community-building initiatives.
  • General feedback on learning environments or extracurricular opportunities.
  • School development areas brought forward by leadership or parents collectively.

Topics Not in Scope

To maintain the constructive and professional integrity of the PVC, the following topics will not be discussed:

  • Individual children – including academic progress, behavior, or support.
  • Individual teachers or staff members - including teaching quality or conduct.
  • Management capability or leadership structure - including personal criticism of the Principal, senior leaders, or Board members.
  • Confidential concerns or disputes – which must be handled through formal complaint or grievance procedures.

Membership

All parents and guardians with children enrolled at the school are welcome to participate.

The committee will be chaired by a volunteer parent representative, supported by a member of the school’s leadership team (e.g. the CEO or Principal).

Sub-committees may be formed for specific events or topics.

Meetings

  • PVC meetings will be held once per month, during term time.
  • The agenda will be agreed in advance and shared with the parent community.
  • Minutes will be recorded and published monthly to keep all parents informed.

Communication and Confidentiality

  • The PVC encourages transparent and respectful communication.
  • Members must maintain confidentiality on any sensitive matters.
  • Feedback shared with the wider community must be constructive and accurate.

Review and Evaluation

These Terms of Reference will be reviewed annually.

The PVC’s effectiveness will be evaluated based on engagement, impact, and feedback from both parents and school leadership.
